Doubt is frequently seen as a threat in the church, and a badge of honor in the wider culture. In fact, doubt is nothing special; it’s just a basic feature of human life. Doubt is also completely dependent on belief—a fact that often goes unacknowledged in skeptical circles. In this three-part series, we’ll explore the cultural prestige surrounding doubt, as well as its actual function in our day-to-day lives.
