We live in a world filled with grave injustice, and this means that we are often right to be offended. However, we often see something very different from legitimate offense in our various media outlets. From virtue signaling to personal attacks, being offended is fast becoming the new national pastime. It hardly needs to be said that this habit has only become more pronounced in the wake of one of the country’s most contentious elections. But public offense often has more to do with self-expression than it does with an actual concern for the condition of our world.
