Ravi Zacharias will visit Guam June 3-5 to spend time with U.S. military personnel stationed on the island and speak on base as well as in the community. He has been invited by the chaplaincy and asked to address the theme, “Faith Works,” explaining how faith in God – as opposed to secularism and self-reliance – enables one to navigate the challenges of life and remain faithful to their calling.

Sunday evening’s message at Harvest Baptist Church will be live-streamed at 6:00pm Chamorro Standard Time (4:00 a.m. EDT) and will be archived for later viewing. A diverse cross-section of the Guam community is expected to attend. Watch below:

“It is a distinct honor to be with the men and women of our Armed Forces. Their willingness to serve in the defense of the values and the ethos of what our country stands for is truly remarkable, and we will always be in their debt,” said Zacharias. “I am delighted to visit Guam once again, and I pray my words point our troops to the unchanging Word and character of God even at a time like this in world history where so much is chaotic and so little is known about the future.”

Ravi Zacharias will speak publicly three times during this visit:

Saturday, June 3 – Naval Base Guam Chapel (19:30)

Sunday, June 4 – Harvest Baptist Church (18:00)

Monday, June 5 – Andersen Air Force Base (18:30)

Several hundred active duty airmen and sailors along with their families are expected to attend the gatherings throughout the weekend. Zacharias will also meet privately with military leaders and chaplains.

“We are honored to host Ravi Zacharias and are praying that people from all across the island of Guam will attend and be challenged with Ravi’s biblical wisdom,” said Jared Baldwin, Executive Pastor of Harvest Baptist Church, who formerly served in the U.S. Air Force and is hosting the Sunday evening gathering. “Although the majority of Guamanians would consider themselves religious, they still have many unanswered spiritual questions. We are praying that Ravi’s ministry will help our community understand the foundations of our Christian faith and develop a heart to follow God amid life’s joys and struggles.”

The island of Guam is the nexus of U.S. forward operations in the Pacific islands, often referred to as “the tip of the spear” by military commanders because of its strategic location. Guam is the largest and southernmost of the Mariana Islands, and U.S. military bases cover nearly 30% of the island’s total land area. This is Zacharias’s second time to visit Guam as he previously visited in December 2014.
